"Book of Fairy Tales" as a benchmark for working with children: Yelena Yampolskaya visited the National Centre RUSSIA with her family
The exposition "Book of Fairy Tales" helps
children build a connection with their native culture, images, and traditions.
This was stated by the Aide to the President of the Russian Federation, Yelena
Yampolskaya, during her visit to the National Centre RUSSIA.
"At the instruction of the President, we are creating a
unified state line of Russian language and literature textbooks for grades 1
through 11. I have formulated a concept for myself that I call 'initiation into
Russia'. For several decades, our children have grown up largely surrounded by
foreign heroes, plots, and images. I am not talking about whether they are good
or bad, but precisely that they are foreign. We have our own, and the first
thing a child should encounter is native fairy tales, songs, images, and even
colour combinations. All of this is something that has been sanctified over
centuries and passed down from generation to generation. It is very important
that this happens with love — easily, without lecturing, without orders, so
that the child is genuinely drawn into it," the Aide to the President
noted.
Yelena Yampolskaya visited the National Centre RUSSIA and the
exposition "Book of Fairy Tales" together with her family. The guests
explored key locations, including "Winter Fairy Tales",
"Lukomorye", "Dubrava", "Enchanted Forest. The
Firebird", "Courtyard. A Fairy-Tale Garden", "Russian
Izba", and "Dark Forest", as well as regional stands.
"The exposition "Book of Fairy Tales" is an
ideal example of working with children. Here, through familiar images, plots,
and heroes presented in modern and engaging formats, children are drawn into a
fairy tale as if into real life. This is also an "initiation into
Russia" — festive, bright, ornate, imaginative, and creative. I am very
happy that we came to this exposition as a whole family. I can see how engaging
it is, and for children of all ages," Yelena Yampolskaya said.
The Aide to the President also highlighted the importance of
regional traditions and legends presented at the exposition: "This is the
material we are currently working with very closely while preparing literature
reading textbooks for primary school. They will certainly include fairy tales
of the peoples of Russia."
The exposition "Book of Fairy Tales" opened on 13
December. It is built around the principle of total immersion, with visitors
themselves becoming the heroes of a fairytale journey. Registration for a free
guided tour of the exposition is available on the website.
The final volunteer appreciation ceremony was held on 26 December at the National Centre RUSSIA.
A resident of Tyumen, Yana Poslavskaya, visited the National Centre RUSSIA in Khanty-Mansiysk together with her eight-month-old daughter Veronika.
