Registration for the "Dreams of the Future" video essay contest began on March 10. Since the opening of applications, the National Centre RUSSIA has already received 216 submissions from teams of five participants each, representing 57 regions of Russia. The main goal of the project is to inspire young people to explore the works of science fiction writers. The competition continues efforts to revive society's interest in shaping its own future, a mission initiated at the International Symposium "Inventing the Future." The event is held as part of the Decade of Science and Technology.

In the age category of 14 to 16 years old, the National Centre RUSSIA has received 165 applications, while the 17–18 age group has submitted 51 applications. Among the participating regions are the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area – Yugra, the Donetsk People's Republic, the Moscow region, the Republic of Dagestan, the Stavropol region, the Rostov region, the Krasnodar region, Saint Petersburg, the Nizhny Novgorod region, the Sverdlovsk region, the Lugansk People's Republic, the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Ulyanovsk region, the Voronezh region, the Zaporozhye region, and many other regions of Russia.

From April 25 to May 19, an expert jury will evaluate the submitted works based on five criteria: relevance to the theme, technical quality, originality, artistic presentation, and use of scientific facts.
