The National Centre RUSSIA reminds everyone that registration for the video essay contest "Dreams of the Future" will conclude on April 27. Teams planning to participate must submit their applications on the website dream.russia.ru. Videos can be uploaded until April 30, but it is important to complete registration with three days remaining.

Since registration opened for the "Dreams of the Future" video essay contest, the National Centre RUSSIA has received 753 applications from teams consisting of five people. In the age category of 14 to 16 years old, 580 applications were submitted, and in the category of 17–18 years old, there were 173.

The main goal of the project is to spark the young generation’s interest in the creativity of science fiction writers. The contest continues the work of reviving society's interest in designing its future, which began at the International Symposium "Inventing the Future." The event is held as part of the Decade of Science and Technology.

The conditions for participation in the contest include creating a video essay that begins with the words: "We want to create a future where...," with a mandatory reference to works of science fiction from the recommended list. Works can be uploaded to the website dream.russia.ru until April 30.

Schoolchildren and students from 88 regions of Russia are participating in the contest. Twenty teams will advance to the finals, and six of them will become winners and prize recipients. They will all travel to Moscow on June 1. The winners will be announced on International Children's Day at a ceremonial event at the National Centre RUSSIA. They will receive valuable prizes — laptops, headphones, and smartphones.

The contest is held as part of the Decade of Science and Technology with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, the Movement of the First, the Coordinating Council for Youth Affairs in the Scientific and Educational Spheres of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation for Science and Education, the Russian State Library for Young Adults, the Council for Science Fiction and Adventure Literature of the Union of Writers of Russia, the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh), ANO "ArtMasters," ANO "Russia - Land of Opportunity," and the All-Russian festival "NAUKA 0+."

The literary partner of the contest is the Eksmo-AST publishing group, the official book network is Chitai-Gorod, the social content partner is "YOUF—Your Media About Reading," and the analytical partner is VCIOM. Among the partners are the ANO "Innovation Centre for the Development and Education of Children and Youth" and the Startup Village conference.

Participants will have the opportunity to compete for a prize based on the results of the reader’s vote—a year's supply of books from Chitai-Gorod and the youth media "YOUF—Your Media About Reading."
