"Childhood Heroes. Our Time" contest - presentation of children's books took place at the RUSSIA EXPO
The RUSSIA
EXPO presented children's books selected in the "Childhood Heroes. Our
Time" contest. The contest was held from September 20 to November 20,
2023, 500 applications were sent.
"The
idea of the contest arose as a reaction to the fact that in modern bookstores
it is quite difficult to find children's literature about the heroes of our
time. The members of the organizing committee of the contest, being parents
themselves, understand this problem. For the sake of the future of our country,
we are obliged to raise a generation of patriots who will strengthen our
country and ensure its further success, said the poet, a participant of the
cultural art project "Male Voice" Ivan Kupreyanov.
The list of
finalists was formed by the expert council, which included: editor-in-chief of
the "Literaturnaya Gazeta" Maxim Zamshev, president of the Russian
Union of Writers Dmitry Kravchuk, poet, artistic director of the Moscow Theater
of Poets Vlad Malenko and film director, public figure Alexandra Frank.
In the
nomination "Literary work for children of 7-9 years old" the winner
was Natalia Neporada with the poem "To the Heroes of Invisible
Labour", the story "Slides of Gostomel" by Timur Garayev was
recognized as the best work for children of 10-12 years old, in the nomination
"Literary work for children of 13-16 years old" the winner was Elena
Smolitskaya with the poem "In a Crooked Trench".
Poets and
musicians of the cultural art project "Male Voice" and the Moscow
Theater of Poets under the direction of Vlad Malenko also performed for the
guests of the event: Alexei Shmelev, Vitaly Venikeev, Alexander Antipov, Roman
Sorokin, Arina Chekanova and Anton Anosov.
The contest
of children's writers "Childhood Heroes. Our Time" is realized by the
ANO "Creative Vector" with the support of the Presidential Fund for
Cultural Initiatives.
