The largest port in the country, records in agribusiness and tourism - the head of the Leningrad region spoke about its achievements
LUGAPORT is
the first universal trade terminal on the Russian Baltic Sea. With the
commissioning of the grain complex next year, the port of Ust-Luga will become
the largest port in Russia. On the Day of the Leningrad Region at the RUSSIA
EXPO, Governor Alexander Drozdenko spoke about the region's achievements.
"The
Leningrad region is a leader in investment, at the same time, projects worth
6.2 trillion rubles are now being implemented in the region. The region has
entered the top 10 of socially oriented regions in Russia, including due to the
growth of real incomes of the population. Thanks to the federal national
projects initiated by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, we are improving
the urban environment, health care, increasing labor productivity, improving
digital maturity and achieving significant results in education", - said
Alexander Drozdenko.
On the
instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin, a number of landmark projects
have been implemented in the region: in October 2023, traffic on a new bridge
over the Svir River in Podporozhye was launched, a perinatal center was opened
in Gatchina, a unique multifunctional museum center was created in
Rozhdestveno, a memorial to the "Civilians of the Soviet Union who died
during the Great Patriotic War" in the village of Doni is being prepared
for opening.
The region
was in the top 5 of the most interesting for traveling - in 2022, more than 6
million tourists came here. In five years the tourist flow has doubled, new
programs and points of growth of tourist potential have been created in Vyborg,
on the Gulf of Finland and Ladoga skerries, lakes of the Karelian Isthmus and
other iconic sites.
Furthermore, the region has become the leader of agro-industrial production in the Northwestern Federal District: the region accounts for about 40% of all agro-industrial production and holds leading positions in the production of eggs, milk, poultry and trout. In Pavilions No. 48 and No. 51 of VDNH you can taste fish, honey, cheese and other delicacies from the Leningrad region.
The International RUSSIA EXPO is the most important achievements of the country gathered in one place. The exposition takes place on the territory of VDNH in Moscow from November 4 to April 12. During the whole period of the exposition the guests are welcomed with cultural and entertainment events, a rich business and educational program.
The event will feature a presentation of a collection of essays written by participants of the international project "Open Dialogue: The Future of the World. New Platform for Global Growth."
