Ice dragon and Kodzyd Pol on skis: two Ded Morozes met at VDNH
Two Ded Morozes congratulated the guests of the RUSSIA EXPO on the coming New Year. One of them comes from Eastern Siberia — he is the Tuvan winter wizard Sook Irey, and the second came from the Komi Republic — his name is Kodzyd Pol.
"I'm not just Grandfather Frost, but an ice dragon who came down from heaven to congratulate you. This is part of the legends of the Tuvinians, who celebrate the New Year according to the eastern calendar, in mid-February. Men and boys stay awake that night to greet the dawn of the new morning and celebrate the coming holiday with special rituals", — said Tuvinian Sook Irey.
Kodzyd Pol had to travel thousands of kilometers to get to the Moscow holiday. However, distance is not a hindrance for Ded Moroz from Komi, given his truly sporty image — this winter hero travels on skis.
"I live in the Ural Mountains, where it is always cold and winds reign. But the souls of our people are warm, and on New Year holidays we gather with the whole family and eat the national dish of shanga with tea", — shared Kodzyd Pol.
The series of winter magicians' visits to the Exposition started on November 18, with the celebration of the birthday of the most famous Ded Moroz, who lives in Veliky Ustyug. The exposition has already been visited by the Cossack Ded Moroz in sharovary trousers and epaulettes, Tatar Kysh Babai, Wes Dada from Kabardino-Balkaria, and Mityn Dada from North Ossetia. The Days of National Ded Morozes will last at VDNH until December 24.
