"Anyone can master their voice": a masterclass on traditional singing was held at the Exposition
On April 30
at the International RUSSIA EXPO, a masterclass on traditional singing was held
by Maria Medvedchenkova, a teacher and co-founder of the Komon School, a
researcher of traditional culture in the context of modernity.
With the
help of vocal lessons, Maria Medvedchenkova helps people to live through their
emotions, establish proper breathing and voice.
"I am
sure that absolutely any person, even if they are not adapted to singing, can
master their voice with the help of different exercises. In my four years of
teaching practice, there has not been a single person who has not sung. People
have a basic vocal voice - the speaking voice. We can amplify it in different
directions in terms of volume and power of sound, increase the range. That
said, you should never be afraid to start singing. It seems to me that
adulthood is the time when you can allow yourself to sing!" Maria
Medvedchenkova noted.
She said
that the lessons, which are attended by people of different ages, help people
to discover themselves and find harmony in the everyday hustle and bustle.
The qualities that set heroes of Russian cinema apart from Western ones lie in their role as carriers of meaning and traditional values.
The event formed part of the scientific and business programme of the National Film Award Forum "Heroes of a Great Country".
Dr Parag Khanna shared his personal experience and observations with Maxim Oreshkin and spoke about the importance of integration and cooperation between different regions and peoples.
