The educational programme of the architectural exposition "The Birth of Scale" concluded at the National Centre RUSSIA on July 30, alongside the closing of the exposition. The programme included a series of architecture workshops for children and adults, led by experienced architects and educators from architectural studios. During the sessions, participants explored the fundamentals of design, modelling and architecture, and some young guests of the National Centre RUSSIA even discovered their professional calling.

Over the course of five months since the opening of "The Birth of Scale" exposition children’s architecture studios showcased their teaching methods, forming what was referred to as a "Portrait of the School." The participants’ work was evaluated by a distinguished panel of judges:

Andrei Chernikhov, Chair of the jury, architect, professor at the International Academy of Architecture, chief curator of "The Birth of Scale" exposition;

Alexander Korotich, artist, designer, writer and educator;

Tatyana Shulika, Candidate of Architecture, professor, head of the "Architectural Environment Design" department at MARCHI;

Eduard Kubensky, architect, director and editor-in-chief of TATLIN publishing house;

Yegor Orlov, architect, member of the Union of Architects of Russia, founder of the School of Future Architecture SETKA.

The competition entries were assessed in 11 categories, with winners selected in the following nominations:

Time Travellers

Awarded to GBUDO Moscow Children’s School of Arts "START" for following the avant-garde traditions in architecture and design. Director: Tatevik Gevorkovna Safrazbekyan.

Quantum Generator of Paradoxes

Awarded to ANO DPO "Studio of Architecture and Design FA-SAD" for developing children’s skills in model making, paper plasticity and design through the use of unconventional materials and techniques. Head: Inna Salikhova.

Ministry of Strange Affairs

Awarded to the School of Future Architecture SETKA for an innovative approach to architectural education of the future. Heads: Yegor Orlov, Irina Golovanova.

Futurological Congress

Awarded to the SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURAL DEVELOPMENT for ideas distinguished by originality and bold solutions in architectural graphics. Head: Nikolai Fyodorovich Metlenkov.

Master of Materials

Awarded to the children’s architecture studio MOGU! for excellence in model making and creative use of unconventional materials. Head: Marina Vaisman.

Ministry of Imagination

Awarded to the creative workshops SLONOPOTAM for a fantasy-driven view of architecture inspired by fairy tales and myths. Heads: Yevgeniya Trifonova, Vera Gapon.

Architects of Joy

Awarded to the Children’s School of Design of the Higher School of Economics for training students whose work demonstrates an innovative vision of architecture. Head: Yevgeny Ruban.

Creative Reboot

Awarded to the children’s creative workshop BOOM by Alisa Brezhneva for an innovative approach and creative thinking. Head: Alisa Brezhneva.

Architecture of Wonder

Awarded to the architectural creativity workshop "Honey Gingerbread" at the Institute of Social Sciences of the Presidential Academy, School of Design, for the ability to provoke, ask questions and seek unconventional solutions. Heads: Anna Medleva, Georgy Pryanichnikov.

Many-Faced Architect

Awarded to ArchiLAB Student Centre (MIIGAiK) for successful organisation and leadership of group projects. Heads: Yelena Vladimirovna Ganushkina, Alexandra Alexandrovna Dyachenko.

Superconstructor

Awarded to the children’s architecture studio "BliK" for a large-scale approach to design that transforms the universe. Head: Katerina Blinovskaya.

Since the opening on March 1, "The Birth of Scale" exposition has been visited by tens of thousands of guests — from professional architects to schoolchildren just beginning their creative journey.
