The start of registration for the international Essay Contest "Open Dialogue — 2026" has been announced. This was stated by Maxim Oreshkin, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, and Deputy Chairman of the National Centre RUSSIA Organizing Committee, on 7 October, during the II International Symposium "Inventing the Future".

"I am pleased to announce that we are launching a new, second international essay contest. We once again invite young, energetic authors, representatives of different professions and cultures to demonstrate their views on the future: the future of man, society, economies, and the entire planet," Maxim Oreshkin said.

He expressed confidence that the new ideas would be no less vivid and diverse. The most breakthrough ones, according to him, will become the foundation for the second Open Dialogue, as well as for the report that will be written based on the results of the work of the expert meeting "The New Economy: Competition for Positive Development."

"The "Open Dialogue" can rightfully be called an international event. As part of it, the author's essay contest was held, in which any person living on our planet could take part. We received 700 works in 16 languages from applicants representing more than a hundred countries around the world. One hundred authors came to Moscow and talked about their ideas, proved their viability, their importance for the development of mankind," Maxim Oreshkin emphasized.

The essay contest "Dreams of the Future" brought together 4,000 children from all regions of the country. The project has become a platform where young people could muse about what their future would be like. To take part in the contest, applicants had to submit a video which would begin with the phrase "We want to create a future in which...". The record was supposed to include a mandatory reference to the science fiction works from the recommended list. The list was prepared by the Russian State Library and the Council on Science Fiction and Adventure Literature of the Union of Writers of Russia.

The project has become a platform where the younger generation could reflect on the future. The award ceremony at the National Centre RUSSIA was attended by 100 finalists, along with curators from 20 teams from all federal districts.
