Marat Khusnullin: in the next 5-6 years, a third of housing facilities in Russia will be renovated
In the coming years, Russia wants to renovate its housing by
a third. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin at the
National Centre RUSSIA during the second event of the "Platform of the
Future: 100 Projects of Russia" series. There, he presented projects
included in the national goal "A Comfortable and Safe Environment for
Life."
"We have set an
ambitious task. Taking into account the improvements that we have made in the
previous 2-3 years, in 5-6 years to come we want to renovate the housing by one
third. One third of the housing facilities should be new. Throughout the 6
years of the national project, we must build, in total, 663 million square
metres of housing, taking into account those that are already built in the
country. This is a huge amount of work," said Marat Khusnullin.
He added that housing
construction has a long investment and construction cycle, and the projects
planned for 2022-2023 are being implemented at the moment. According to him, it
was in 2023 that a record number of mortgage loans was seen, and it became a
serious incentive for the industry's development. As a result, 110 million
square metres of housing facilities were commissioned in 2023 — almost 0.7
metres per person. The key task is to reach the national average of 0.82 metres
per person.
