Mia Boyka: "The Motherland is my parental home"
The Motherland begins with one’s parental home. Well-known
Russian singer Mia Boyka took part in the All-Russian survey by the National
Centre RUSSIA — "What Does the Motherland Begin With?" — and shared
her perspective on what this concept means to her.
"For each person, the Motherland begins with something
of their own — it all depends on the person's childhood and the memories
associated with it. For me, the Motherland is my parental home. I visited there
recently, although, unfortunately, I do not get to come back often these days.
My Motherland begins with my native village in the Leningrad region, with the
fields around it, with our vegetable garden — with everything that I come
from," the singer said.
