Guest of the RUSSIA EXPO became the millionth user of the Unified Biometric System

The RUSSIA EXPO hosted the registration of the millionth user of the state Unified Biometric System. It was 28-year-old Anastasia, a teacher of MGIMO - the girl together with her friends visited the Smart Finance pavilion to get acquainted with the mechanics of accruing digital game rubles.

"One million users is an important milestone. This is evidence of the high interest of citizens in the services, and also a sign of trust in the technology itself. We will continue to expand the list of available services. This March we plan to launch a service for starting a business online. In the future citizens will have access to services for boarding the train on biometrics, check-in to hotels and hotels, service in MFC without a passport," said Deputy Prime Minister, Head of the Government Office Dmitry Grigorenko.

The jubilee user was congratulated by Vladislav Povolotsky, CEO of the Center for Biometric Technologies.

The registration took place at the VTB Bank branch in the Smart Finance pavilion. The whole procedure took five minutes, after which the guest of the Exposition had access to a full range of biometrics services - from registration of a fan ID card to remote opening of a bank account.

"VTB's accredited commercial biometric system is the first CBS in the country to operate at an event of all-Russian scale. Biometric identification and authentication services in finance make financial services available to any Russian citizen regardless of geography. In addition, biometric authentication services help ensure the safety of clients' funds, improve client experience and the quality of service," said Sergei Bezbogov, Deputy Head of the Technology Block and Senior Vice President of VTB.

After registration, the jubilee user was presented with gifts from the Center for Biometric Technologies and VTB Bank. At the end of the ceremony, Anastasia was given a tour of the pavilion and demonstrated advanced fintech solutions, including a mechanism for accruing digital game rubles.

Anastasia became the millionth user who registered her data directly in the UBS. At the same time, more than 50 million biometric samples - facial images and voice recordings - were transferred to the secure state system as part of the data import procedure. They are stored in encrypted form separately from other personal data of citizens and never leave the perimeter of the Unified Biometric System.

You can register in the UBS in the mobile application "State Services Biometrics" or in person at banks across Russia. Mind that in-person registration provides access to the full list of biometric services, while remote registration provides access only to low-risk services.
