Silent Men and Mister Knockout: Movies about champions at the RUSSIA EXPO
The top domestic sports dramas of the last ten years can
once again be seen on the big screen, and also completely free of charge.
Guests of the exposition are invited to a session at the Museum of Cinema. The screenings
are timed to coincide with the 10th anniversary of the Sochi Olympics.
SCREENING OF THE MOVIE "MISTER KNOCKOUT" 12+
The story of the legendary Soviet athlete Valery
Popenchenko. The movie will tell about childhood and youth, studies and
military service, and, of course, about the main victories of the genius boxer.
Special attention will be paid to the relationship between Valery and his
mentor Grigory Kusikyants.

SCREENING OF THE MOVIE "ELEVEN SILENT MEN" 12+
The movie will tell about the famous tour of the Dynamo
Moscow football club to the British Isles in November 1945. Then the Soviet
team was nicknamed "Eleven Silent Men in Blue Coats" by the foreign
press.
To make the story more exciting for the audience, the
director added a fictional adventurous-romantic plot line related to the affair
between Soviet football player Vsevolod Bobrov and British journalist Abby.
Otherwise, however, the movie fairly faithfully reproduces the events as well as
the atmosphere of those years.

The only documentary in our selection is dedicated to the
famous figure skater Evgenia Medvedeva. Figure skating fans can learn more
about the champion's life and athletic career, as well as the difficulties she
faced.

The sports drama will tell the story of the most legendary
victories of Russian athletes. Behind each of the triumphs are complex human

SCREENING OF THE MOVIE "GOING VERTICAL" 6+
The first Russian movie in the history of the Russian box
office to reach the two million mark. The exciting sports drama tells about the
victory of the USSR national team over the US team in the final match of the
men's basketball tournament of the XX Summer Olympic Games in Munich in 1972.
The Soviet basketball players managed to pull off an incredible victory by
scoring the decisive goal in the last seconds of the game.
