The winners of the contest program Dynasties of Russia were determined at the Dear – Loved Ones forum
The grand contest program Dynasties of Russia that was held at the RUSSIA EXPO within the framework of the All-Russian Family Forum Dear – Loved Ones came to an end. The Forum became the first official event of the Year of the Family in Russia.
The contest consisted of five tracks - Family Talent Show, Connoisseurs of the Motherland, Knowledge.Game "Linking Generations", Family Recipes, Jack of All trades - and was held with the support of the Russian Society "Knowledge", the More than a Trip program, the Tavrida art-cluster and the House of Russian Cuisine.
In the Connoisseurs of the Motherland nomination contestants competed in most bright and colorful presentation of their region. The Chelpanovsky family from the town of Polarnye Zori gave a tour of the Murmansk region's stand at the RUSSIA EXPO. Denis, the head of the family, introduced the audience to the riches of the Kola Peninsula.
"Our region is famous for cloudberries, fish, reindeer, 70% of minerals are located here. We are famous for the world's northernmost nuclear power plant and icebreaker fleet. Our family is interested in our native land, we often go hiking, we like to travel as a family both in the Murmansk region and all over Russia".
"We are natives of the region, hereditary Pomors, and the outfits we are wearing today were worn by our ancestors. My daughter is wearing the outfit of a maiden, and I am wearing the outfit of a married Pomor woman. Our grandmothers wore such dresses," Natalia Chelpanovskaya added.
The finalists of the Family Recipes track competed in cooking their specialties. The families were assisted in the culinary competition by professionals - multiple chefs and restaurateurs. Kalitki, perepechi, buuzi, venison with lingonberries and other dishes could be tasted not only by the forum participants, but also by all visitors of the House of Russian Cuisine.
The Republic of Dagestan was represented by a large family of Kazanbiyevs, helped by the Parkuyev family, authors of the menu of the Dagestan Shop corner. Together they baked chudu.
"Chudu are flatbreads made of unleavened dough with a filling. The fillings can be very diverse: meat, chicken, cheese, herbs or even pumpkin. This is one of the most popular dishes of Dagestan. When we need to feed everyone, our family always has a chudu on hand," said Zuleikhat Parkuyeva.
"We are absolutely fascinated by the forum. It is an incredible coming together of families, different cultures, traditions. National cuisine is another way to get to know this or that ethnicity. Everyone in our family knows how to cook, even children, they actively help me, especially when I cook chudu, because it is a labor-intensive process, but together we cope quickly," said Alipat Kazanbiyeva.
The contestants were able to show erudition and find answers to questions on the history and culture of our country as a family during the Knowledge.Game "Linking Generations" tournament. The quiz for family teams included three rounds - two qualifying rounds and a final round. The final game was conducted by Maxim Potashyov, a master of "What? Where? When?", a father with many children. The tasks were selected so as to involve in brainstorming representatives of all generations - both adults and children.
The first and second place in the tournament were shared by the Yuzvik dynasty of teachers from the Leningrad region and the dynasty of automobile builders Gaifullin-Safin from Tatarstan.
"It was very interesting to compete with so many participating teams and to win in the end. Every member of the family contributed to the victory, even our youngest participant demonstrated remarkable knowledge and good intuition. But we are especially proud of our older kids: they often gave answers on the fly, without thinking, and that's really great," shared mom, Tatiana Yuzvik.
"We couldn't even imagine that we would reach the finals and then be among the winners. We really liked the variety of questions: we have four children, and when we had to figure out the cartoons, our youngest ones helped a lot. And we also benefited from the fact that we are all very different - there are technicians, economists, and artists in the family. But we think and act as one team. Probably, that is because we are not just a family in life, but a whole dynasty: we all work at the legendary KAMAZ," said the Gaifullins-Safins.
In the Jack of All Trades nomination at the Home of Youth, families shared the secrets of their unique skills with each other and with the guests of the RUSSIA EXPO: they told how to make an original bird feeder, a chocolate box, a gingerbread man with a Dymkovo toy, and much more.
The Gopalo family from Chukotka taught everyone how to make an ancient protective amulet with their own hands.
"Our ancestors believed in the power of such amulets. I remember my grandmother said that the amulet in the form of the sun should be worn over clothes, so that the evil spirit did not get into your soul. And it is made exclusively of natural materials - ringed seal and fur seal skins," says Regina Gopalo.
The result of the Family Talent Show track was a concert on the stage of the House of Culture of VDNH. According to the terms of the contest, the participating families had to show their talents together - to sing, dance, recite poetry or perform an original number. The main criteria for the jury were the artistry of the performers and the atmospheric nature of the numbers.
The Kuchukovs from the Altai Republic came to the forum as a family of five: grandmother, mother, daughter and mother's cousins.
"We sang a very beautiful folk song in the Altai language, which glorifies Altai, its nature and people. The audience received us very well. We are a teaching dynasty in the third generation, which I hope will carry on. We enjoyed the forum very much: we learned about the traditions and customs of other peoples, we not only got acquainted with many families, but also became friends," said Alyona Kuchukova.
The Another Matter development program of the Presidential Platform Russia - Land of Opportunity rewarded all participants and guests of the forum with points. All they had to do was to perform interactive tasks at the stands of nine regions: Vladimir, Tyumen, Arkhangelsk, Irkutsk, Kursk, Tula and Kurgan regions, the Republic of Udmurtia and the Komi Republic. The accumulated points can now be exchanged for internships in the leading companies of the country, free trips around Russia, online courses, merchandise and much more.
