Victims of the terrorist attack in Dagestan were honored at the International RUSSIA EXPO
On the day of mourning, the International RUSSIA EXPO
honored the memory of the victims of the terrorist attack in Derbent and
Makhachkala, which took place on June 23. Employees of the Exposition
Directorate and stands brought flowers to the stand of the Republic and
commemorated the victims with a minute of silence.
On June 23, Derbent and Makhachkala were subjected to a
terrorist attack. As a result of the terrorist attack 20 people were killed, 17
of them were law enforcement officers. 44 people were injured in the attack.
The head of the Republic of Dagestan, Sergei Melikov, declared a three-day
mourning period for the victims in the region.
The RUSSIA EXPO employees also supported the residents of
Sevastopol, which was hit by a massive missile attack on June 23 that injured
155 people and killed four, including two children, Governor Mikhail
Razvozhayev said. Russia's Investigative Committee has initiated criminal
proceedings under the article "terrorist act". Today, memorial events
for the victims are being held in the Hero City.
The International RUSSIA EXPO showcases the most important
achievements of the country in one place. Throughout the Exposition, cultural
events, a rich business and educational program await the guests. The
expositions of 89 Russian regions, leading federal agencies, corporations and
public organizations are presented to the visitors. The International RUSSIA
EXPO takes place on the territory of VDNH in Moscow till July 8.
