"New Technologies for Health Preservation" national project was discussed at the RUSSIA EXPO
On May 16, the plenary session of the thematic day "New
Technologies for Health Preservation", timed to coincide with the Week of
Technological Leadership, was held. It discussed a new national project
dedicated to technologies in medicine.
Demographic trends of recent years form new challenges for
healthcare, said Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Tatyana Golikova.
"The growth of life expectancy has become a stimulus for the
development of advanced areas of medical science, without which it is
impossible to achieve the national goal reflected in the decree of Russian
President Vladimir Putin of May 7, which is to preserve the population and
strengthen its health. The "New Technologies for Health Preservation"
national project is aimed at solving this task," said Tatyana Golikova.
Biotechnologies that allow increasing life expectancy have
already been introduced into clinical practice — in particular, more than 50
thousand women have undergone IVF procedure, the first medicine for the
treatment of Behterev's disease, new bioengineering products for the treatment
of joints, biotic prostheses and other means of treatment have appeared. Russia
has created global-level technologies and the national project will focus on
them, emphasized Tatyana Golikova.
It is planned to introduce new medications, biomedical
technologies that prevent cell aging. Much attention will be paid to remote
diagnostics, artificial intelligence in medicine, radiopharmaceuticals for the
treatment of oncology and other diseases. In addition, the national project
will focus on disease prevention. Emphasis will be placed on interdisciplinary
interaction between scientists. For this purpose, it is necessary to determine
the directions of research and ways of their implementation, said Deputy Prime
Minister.
"For this purpose, last year we began to create a special
subsystem of the Unified State Information System of record of research,
development and technological works of civil purpose. It will help us select
the most promising developments and monitor their implementation," Tatyana
Golikova emphasized.
In 2025, the strategy of medical science development will be
finalized. According to Tatyana Golikova, it is already necessary to form a new
document that will define the directions of medical science development and
will become the basis for the realization of the national project.
The new national project will consist of five federal
projects — "Medical Science — New Technologies for Man", "Personal Medical
Assistants", "Biomedical Technologies of the Future for Active Longevity and
Healthy Aging", "New Medical Technologies for Health Promotion and Disease
Prevention" and "Development of Production of the Most Demanded Medicines". As
a result, the share of medical care using new technologies should reach 10% by
2030. This will also make it possible to achieve a life expectancy of 78 years
by the same date, said Health Minister Mikhail Murashko. Regulatory environment
plays a big role in the integration of technologies — it allows to accelerate
their implementation.
"Regulatory framework actually pursues the very support of
scientific search and the goal of preserving population. What was stated in the
President's instruction following his participation in the plenary session of
the Future Technologies Forum creates opportunities for us to achieve new
breakthrough results. Our capabilities guarantee this," said Mikhail Murashko,
Minister of Health of the Russian Federation.
The session was attended by industry experts, heads of
regions and representatives of federal executive authorities. They discussed
the system of support for medical universities and research centers, industrial
capacity and technological efficiency of the pharmaceutical industry, as well
as the implementation of the new national project in the regions.
It should be reminded that the RUSSIA EXPO is held on the
territory of VDNH in Moscow from November 4 to July 8. Visitors are presented
