BRICS+ International Festival of Theater Schools continues at the Exposition
The RUSSIA
EXPO is hosting the BRICS+ International Festival of Theater Schools. It is
attended by Russian artists and cultural figures, as well as children's
choreographic groups and soloists. The festival will last until June 8 and will
be attended by representatives of theater schools from India, China, South
Africa, Russia, Iran, the United Arab Emirates, as well as Belarus.
According
to Paul Griffiths, co-director of the BRICS Theater Schools Festival, the
participants will not only work together, but also learn skills from each
other. "Together we will explore the great Russian classics, add our own
flavor to them and combine our visions in one final performance," says
Paul Griffiths.
Anastasia
Zvyagina, Deputy Director General of the RUSSIA EXPO, emphasizes that during
the festival young actors will get to know each other and establish contacts.
She said that theaters from different countries will show their interpretations
of Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin's "The Tale of the Fisherman and the
Fish", the 225th anniversary of his birth will also be celebrated on a
large scale at the Exposition.
"For
eight days there will be masterclasses on acting, on stage speech. And the
culmination of the festival will be a large joint performance. It is especially
important that the guys will get acquainted with our country, with Moscow, with
each other. Maybe some of them will become friends for life," said
Anastasia Zvyagina, Deputy Director General of the RUSSIA EXPO.
The
festival promotes cultural rapprochement between the BRICS countries, said
Abdulhamid Al Rumaithi, a representative of the UAE's ruling dynasty. "It
is a great exchange between cultures, it is wonderful that we can meet and show
each other what we have managed to do," he said.
The
festival will end with a performance in the format of "Let's Play
Together!" - artists from different countries will take part in a joint
performance based on the fairy tale, which will unite the vision of the work in
different cultures.
