Concert inspired by "Eugene Onegin" was held at the RUSSIA EXPO
At the RUSSIA EXPO, a concert titled "Eugene Onegin —
It All Begins with Love" took place, dedicated to the 225th anniversary of
Alexander Pushkin's birth.
Before the concert began, guests were briefed on the poet's
biography and the unique aspects of his work "Eugene Onegin". The
program opened with the overture to the opera "Ruslan and Lyudmila"
by composer Mikhail Glinka. The musical accompaniment for the theatrical
production was provided by the Moscow Symphony Orchestra under the direction of
conductor Yuri Demidovich, a laureate of international competitions.
"It is impossible not to love Pushkin because this man
had an incredible influence on the entire culture of our beautiful country. He
is a personality that inspires us. I am inspired by his work and always
discover something new and amazing. The greatest value of 'Eugene Onegin' is
how beautifully and nobly Pushkin masters the language. This cannot leave
anyone indifferent," said Yuri Demidovich.
The performance featured soloists from the Bolshoi Theatre
of Russia and the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Music
Theatre. They performed the operatic roles of the characters from the verse
novel "Eugene Onegin".
Alexander Pushkin's birthday has rightfully become a
celebration of the Russian language and literature, emphasized the concert
producer and guest soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre, Ksenia Dezhneva. "The
presented program is unique because it is an opera-symphonic concert with the
participation of dramatic readers. Most of the participants are young artists.
We are delighted to share this celebration with the public," said Ksenia
Dezhneva.
