Visitors to the Exposition will be able to get a lot of new knowledge about blood donation. And those visitors who decide to donate blood will later taste a special donor's breakfast prepared by experienced chefs.

The campaign will take place at Pavilion 62 from 10:00 to 14:00. To take part in the event, you just need to contact one of the volunteers wearing a jacket with the symbol of the Blood Service — you will be able to get a special leaflet about donation, as well as the necessary additional information. A mobile blood collection complex of the Federal Medical and Biomedical Agency of Russia will be installed on the territory to receive donors, and besides the guests of the Exposition, groups of students from Moscow universities and regular donors will take part in the campaign.

At 15:00 in the pavilion "House of Russian Cuisine", a culinary masterclass will be held. A team of cooks from the House of Russian Cuisine and Ekaterina Belotskaya, a transfusiologist from the Blood Center of the FMBA of Russia, will introduce the audience to the principles of quality balanced nutrition and the possibilities to diversify the diet before donation and between donation procedures.

Later, the donors will enjoy dishes and drinks by chefs from 10 regions of the Far East and the North. These include spelt porridge with baked vegetables, oatmeal porridge with lingonberries, chicken soufflé, millet with caramel pear and apple puree, dessert of cookies with apple, dessert "Cloudberry clouds" with "Jubilee" cookies, oatmeal kissel, tea with lingonberries and cranberries, sea buckthorn and black currant morses, "Warming" tea.

The hosts will be curator of the House of Russian Cuisine, author of the project "Gastronomic Map of Russia" Ekaterina Shapovalova and her daughter Anna Shapovalova, pediatrician, resident, pediatric endocrinologist at the National Medical Center of Endocrinology.

National Donor Day is celebrated annually on April 20. The reason for it was an important event: on this day in 1832, a young St. Petersburg obstetrician Andrei Martynovich Wolf for the first time successfully performed blood transfusion to a woman in labour. The woman's life was saved thanks to the competent work of the doctor and the donated blood of the patient's husband.
