Guests of Sevastopol's stand at the RUSSIA EXPO honored the memory of the victims of the Great Patriotic War
The Day of Remembrance and Sorrow at the stand of the Hero City of Sevastopol at the RUSSIA EXPO began with a minute of silence. Sevastopol was the first city to be bombed at the beginning of the Great Patriotic War — shells were dropped in the city centre on June 22, 1941 at 3:13. Some of them hit residential neighborhoods. As a result of the raid 21 civilians were killed. On October 30, 1941 the heroic defense of the city began, which lasted 250 days.
The military band of the Sevastopol Regiment of the Southern Order of Zhukov District of the National Guard of the Russian Federation performed for the guests of the Exposition. The musicians played the famous compositions "Holy War", "Cranes" and "Legendary Sevastopol" — the anthem of the Hero City.
