Image of the future world order was discussed at the RUSSIA EXPO
At the conference "Production of the Future — Challenges, Tasks, Opportunities", philosophers, futurists and political
scientists discussed trends in the development of mankind, the interaction of
science and science fiction, and analyzed various forecasts for the future
development of society.
The event was held in Pavilion No. 19 "Atom" with
the support of the Russian Society "Knowledge", which is the general
partner of the Exposition's educational program. The first discussion at the
conference was a talk on "Why Russia Needs an Image of the Future".
It was moderated by Taras Varkhotov, Acting Head of the Department of
Philosophy and Methodology of Science, Faculty of Philosophy, Lomonosov Moscow
State University.
The discussion was attended by Vadim Titov, Director General
of Rusatom - International Network; Vladimir Ikonnikov, Advisor to the
Executive Director and General Producer of the ANO "Institute for Internet
Development"; Alexei Maslov, Director of the Institute of Asian and
African Countries at Lomonosov Moscow State University; and Andrei Polosin,
Vice-Rector of the RANEPA, Candidate of Psychological Sciences.
"Reflections and thoughts about the future give us
space and energy in reality. Designing an image of the future is the most
important thing for us in terms of space to move forward. At many events we use
the phrase "inspiring a better future", which means energy and its
positive use for development and prosperity. Our technological answer is in
controlled fusion, in closing the nuclear fuel cycle. But from a societal point
of view, what matters to us is the human being. We are thinking today how to
meet the challenges of medicine and the treatment of malignant diseases. All
this is the future!" Vadim Titov emphasized.
In turn, Andrei Polosin, speaking about an image of the
future, noted that it is possible to envision it only in the short term, taking
into account the technological developments that already exist.
"We can only envision the future as some configuration
or relationship based on what we already know or aspire to in the near future.
Scientific books about the future or forecasts about the international
situation are built solely from our knowledge and understanding of possible
events. I can confidently say that we create what might happen based on our
knowledge and experience," said Andrei Polosin.
The experts also speculated about the forecasts for the
future of society. According to Andrei Bezrukov, one of the main elements in
the development of states and nations is a strong leader whom people follow. He
emphasized that now Russia and other countries are approaching a "new
historical turn", and in order to be ready to meet the unknown, it is
necessary to discuss these issues and forecast different options.
Quantum technologies are the key to digital sovereignty, security, and breakthrough discoveries. We are not copying anyone else's path — we are creating our own.
At the National Centre RUSSIA, a panel pitching session titled "Investments in Technology" was held within the framework of the Open Dialogue "The Future of the World. New Platform for Global Growth".
