The RUSSIA EXPO celebrated the initiation of new young naturalists
As part of
the business program of the Ecology Day, Pavilion No. 16 Prirodograd. City of
Professions (Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian
Federation) held a ceremony of initiation of the young naturalists of the
Movement of the First. The ceremony was attended by Victoria Abramchenko,
Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.
"The
RUSSIA EXPO provides unique opportunities, here young visitors can get
acquainted with professions in the field of ecology. I know that it is very
popular among children to feel like a forest firefighter, learn what it is, try
on equipment and immerse themselves in this environment. Here you can also
measure your carbon footprint and take part in a lot of other activities for
all ages, and I believe that this is a very good tool to popularize the environmental
agenda," said Deputy Prime Minister Victoria Abramchenko.
The first
solemn initiation into the Movement of the First's young naturalists was held
within the framework of the first gathering of young naturalists, which started
last summer in Kamchatka and brought together participants from different parts
of the country at the All-Russian Youth Environmental Forum "Ecosystem.
Protected Land" of the Rosmolodezh. Events platform. The meeting was a
continuation of the initiative to revive the activities of young naturalists,
supported by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, as well as the starting
point in the systematic work of the Movement of the First, aimed at the
formation of a unified system of environmental education of young people.
During the
ceremony, the children repeated the symbolic "Oath of a Young
Naturalist" after the coordinator of the community of young naturalists
and received special badges symbolizing their belonging to the youth
environmental movement. An educational tour of the pavilion was also organized
for the young ecologists.
In turn,
Victoria Abramchenko received a memorable gift from the young naturalists.
"We
gave Victoria Valerievna an eco-cube, which contains the seeds of the Kremlin
New year tree inside. Having germinated these seeds, you can grow an eco-fir
tree at home to plant it in your garden or just outside," said Polina
Pavlova, coordinator of the community of Movement of the First's young
naturalists of the Moscow region.
The
exposition Prirodograd. City of Professions was formed by the Ministry of
Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation and is dedicated to
fighting forest fires, studying carbon footprints and Antarctic ice cores.
Guests of the pavilion can try on the roles of a firefighter, ecologist,
meteorologist, South Pole researcher, weather forecast presenter, and then take
a survey to help them understand which of these professions is most appealing
to them.
The event will feature a presentation of a collection of essays written by participants of the international project "Open Dialogue: The Future of the World. New Platform for Global Growth."
