12 couples from Siberia got married at the RUSSIA EXPO
On May 14, 12 couples from the Siberian Federal District got
married at the RUSSIA EXPO. The ceremony was a part of the first All-Russian
Wedding Festival, which is held in partnership with the Government of Moscow.
Couples from the Altai region, the Republics of Khakassia,
Altai and Tuva, as well as from the Irkutsk, Kemerovo, Novosibirsk, Omsk and
Tomsk regions took part in a festive procession from the Main Entrance to the
Main Street Stage. Creative
groups from Siberia held a performance on the theme of engagement — the third
day of the festival is dedicated to this rite.
On the Main Street Stage, Anatoly Seryshev, Presidential
Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Siberian Federal District, addressed the
newlyweds.
"Dear newlyweds, thank you for your courage, determination,
for sharing this joy with us on this day, which is holy and beautiful for you.
Family in Russia is sacred. In the Year of the Family, you are creating the
most important cell of our society, relying on our spiritual and moral
traditions. I heartily congratulate you on this significant event in your
lives. And of course, being here in Moscow, in the heart of our Motherland, I
wish you that your unions will be eternal, unique and for life. And that these
unions, of course, have children, as many as you can, as many as God sends,
preferably more. Happiness, joy, success! Thank you!" said Anatoly Seryshev.
Anna and Nikolai Kalabin from the Tomsk region told why they
decided to take part in the wedding festival.
"We are dealing with folklore and decided to take the
opportunity to get married in traditional costumes. We are glad to represent
the region in such an event, it will be remembered for a lifetime," the
newlyweds said.
Nikolai and Victoria Luzgin from the Novosibirsk region came
to the festival in traditional costumes of Siberian settlers.
"We have been dating for a very long time, about six years.
Now we decided to get married, legalize our union and live happily ever after.
We are wearing traditional costumes of Siberian settlers. They were specially
tailored for us. They were worn in the Novosibirsk region — bright and
colorful," said the young family.
The couples were handed the flame of the All-Russian Family
Hearth "Heart of Russia", which was lit at the RUSSIA EXPO on January 23. The ceremony ended with a festive
concert — the ensemble "Obereg" from the Irkutsk region, the collective
"Radonitsa" from the Novosibirsk region and other artists performed for the
newlyweds. In particular, the Chadan Drama Theater of the Republic of Tuva
presented an excerpt from the play "Nomad's Wedding", and the folklore ensemble
"Arrow" from the Altai region performed a wedding song recorded during folklore
expeditions.
The All-Russian Wedding Festival at the RUSSIA EXPO is being
held for the first time. It started on the Red Hill (Second Sunday of Easter),
May 12, when the largest mass simultaneous marriage ceremony took place. 151
couples took part in it. During
the week — until May 19 — there will be thematic days dedicated to the stages
of the wedding rite and various customs. Each of them will be linked to
the traditions of Russia's regions and peoples.
