"Sport for Everyone" festival was held at the RUSSIA EXPO
On July 7,
the family festival "Sport for Everyone" was held at the
International RUSSIA EXPO. At the "Sports Russia" venue, there were
mass exercise sessions, themed masterclasses, and quizzes dedicated to sports.
"Today,
we are holding our family festival "Sport for Everyone" together with
the Ministry of Sports and Lokomotiv. More than one hundred families registered
for the festival, but everyone is welcome to participate — you can try out
tabletop games like hockey and football. You can try your hand at golf, and
thrill-seekers can even learn to surf," said Anastasia Zvyagina, Deputy
Director General of the RUSSIA EXPO.
She
reminded that the sports program at the Exposition started at the request of
visitors and began with the largest mass exercise session — with 5,773
participants. Overall, more than 100,000 people have participated in the
sporting events at the Exposition.
Such
festivals not only energize but also instill family sports habits, noted
Nadezhda Petrova, a finalist in Grand Slam tournaments in doubles, bronze
medalist at the London Olympics in doubles, and the third-ranked player in the
world in both singles and doubles. She conducted a mass exercise session for
the visitors.
"Of
course, sports should be part of every family. In our country, a lot of
attention is paid to family values, as well as the development of physical
culture and sports. This positive harmony allows a child to develop properly —
including building character. Moreover, sports are a way for families to come
together and spend quality time," said Nadezhda Petrova.
For
festival guests, platforms of Russian sports federations were organized. In
particular, the Surfing Federation presented surf trainers and balance boards
used by athletes for training. The Golf Association held masterclasses on the
game. Additionally, professional arm wrestlers performed for visitors. At the
Russian physical culture and sports society Lokomotiv"station, guests
played panna football and participated in sword fighting masterclasses. Mascots
from Moscow and Moscow region sports teams — Dynamo, CSKA, Lokomotiv,
Sparta&K and student sports clubs Alliance, REU and Senator — also
participated in the festival.
During the
festival, the family contest "My Family — My Team" took place, where
participants took part in quizzes and completed a sports quest. Additionally,
guests enjoyed the "Intuition" show, where they guessed interesting
facts about mascots and their teams. Throughout the day, there were
sports-dance flash mobs at the venue.
The event will feature a presentation of a collection of essays written by participants of the international project "Open Dialogue: The Future of the World. New Platform for Global Growth."
