Event in support of Sevastopol residents was held at the RUSSIA EXPO
On June 23, an event was held at the International RUSSIA
EXPO to support the residents of Sevastopol who were subjected to massive
shelling.
Employees and guests of the Exposition observed a minute of
silence in memory of the victims and conveyed words of support and compassion
to the injured. As a sign of solidarity and admiration for the courage and
fortitude of Sevastopol residents, the Exposition played the city anthem
"Legendary Sevastopol" and the composition "Cranes"
performed by the Military Band of the Sevastopol Regiment of the Southern Order
of Zhukov District of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation.
June 24 has been declared a day of mourning in Crimea.
"In difficult moments Sevastopol residents have always shown cohesion,
unity and strength. Sevastopol is grieving. Together with us all Russia is
mourning," said Evgeny Boytsov, Deputy Head of the Department of Cultural
Policy and Art Development of the Department of Culture of the city of
Sevastopol.
Four people were killed and 144 others were injured in the
shelling of Sevastopol today, the city's governor Mikhail Razvozhayev said. The
Russian Investigative Committee has initiated criminal proceedings under the
article "Terrorist Act".
The International RUSSIA EXPO showcases the most important
achievements of the country in one place. Throughout the Exposition, cultural
