Children’s competition "Transport Engineers" was launched at the RUSSIA EXPO
A solemn
ceremony of launching the All-Russian Competition for Children's Engineering
Inventions "Transport Engineers" was held at the RUSSIA EXPO. The
contest is open to children from nine to eighteen years old. They are offered
to draft engineering and creative projects.
The competition allows to generate children's interest in transport — this will bring more specialists to the industry in the future, said Oleg Belozerov, Director General — Chairman of the Management Board of JSC Russian Railways. "I see you as the future of the country and Russian railroads. We at Russian Railways do everything to encourage and support talents and endeavors. I am sure that the contest will go well," Oleg Belozerov addressed the schoolchildren.
Holding
such events once again confirms that Russia has all the opportunities for
development and self-realization, noted Grigory Gurov, Chairman of the Board of
the Movement of the First. "We are citizens of Russia, and we have a great
future. And it starts precisely with such competitions. In order to develop in
the profession, you need to participate in them — then you will get to know
other specialists, and they will get to know you. Only together we can build
our future," said Grigory Gurov.
The
creation of a community of young engineers directly affects the technological
development of the country, emphasized Alexander Bugaev, First Deputy Minister
of Education of Russia. "Without an engineer there can be no technological
process and production. And this is very important for us now. Create and do
not be afraid to make mistakes. The future is in creativity," Alexander
Bugaev addressed the participants of the ceremony.
The
"Transport Engineers" contest will be held in all 89 regions of
Russia. The children will be offered to perform tasks in two areas -
engineering and creative. Among the expected topics of the projects are the development
of a device for collecting small debris from the tracks, the creation of a
robot steward providing services, new uniforms for railroad employees,
improvement of railroad stations and many others.
The
competition will be held in several stages — projects will be selected at the
regional level and then at the federal level. In December 2024, the finalists
will meet face-to-face and finalize their projects. The competition was
organized by Russian Railways and the Movement of the First with the support of
the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation. The operator of the
contest is the Federal Center for Supplementary Education and Organization of
Rest and Recreation for Children of the Ministry of Education. The idea to hold
the contest was supported by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
