A temporary exposition of NGUADI named after A.D. Kryachkov was opened at the "Birth of Scale" expo
As part of the "Birth of Scale" expo, a temporary exposition of the A.D. Kryachkov Novosibirsk State University of Architecture, Design and Arts opened at the National Centre RUSSIA on June 17. It is divided into three blocks, each of which reflects one of the components of the university's identity.
The first block is called "The Heart of Russia" and addresses Novosibirsk as an important transport hub, and a centre of integration of the eastern and western parts of Russia. It is reflected in the projects that the university students and their teachers have worked on. The geography of the presented works ranges from Novosibirsk and the Novosibirsk region to the Arctics, St. Petersburg, Yakutia and the Irkutsk region.
For example, here you can see projects by the "Cradle of Humanity" tourism cluster in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District and the Aikhal all-season park in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
The second block is the "Laboratory of Science and Art". Novosibirsk research schools are well-known in Russia and abroad. The students' projects show the university's contribution to the development of logistics, economy and tourism. Besides, they reveal the university's role as a laboratory of science and art, where the developments of cultural and scientific facilities of the city are born.
This block presents such projects as the interuniversity campus in Novosibirsk's Akademcity, a regional educational centre for gifted children of the Novosibirsk Region, and the Medical Centre for Transplantation and Rehabilitation in Novosibirsk.
In the third block, New Horizons, special attention is paid to projects adressing development of new territories in Russia, including creation of model public spaces.
The exposition presents library projects for the city of Lugansk and the Lugansk region, created jointly with the Ministry of Culture during implementation of the National Project "Culture".
"For the exposition"The Birth of Scale" – "Architectural Universities of Russia" - we selected unusual projects, and some of them have already been implemented. Education at our university is structured in such a way that each field of study has its own pool of industrial partners. These partners are companies in cooperation with whom we adjust the educational process so it satisfies the request for design competencies of our students, and there are workshops at each university department where students are given an opportunity to earn their first money working on real orders. Most of the submitted projects were developed by request of the industrial partners, government agencies and authorities. In addition, the university pays great attention to social projects," said Oksana Gaigerova, curator of the exposition, Head of the Information Policy Department at A.D. Kryachkov's NGUADI.
Anastasia Plakhotina, Deputy Head of the Department of Architecture for Information and Exposition Activities at A.D. Kryachkov's NGUADI, listed the most striking projects that can be seen at the temporary exposition"The Birth of Scale". For example, amongt them is the cultural and leisure centre "Teplocentre No. 1" and Chemical Plant in Novosibirsk, where the art cluster will be located. They will become places of attraction for residents and visitors of the city.
The exposition "The Birth of Scale" at the National Centre RUSSIA presents realized architectural projects, as well as ideas remaining at the conceptual level. The exposition consists of both the National Centre's own materials and exhibits provided by museums and private collections from all over the country.
