On June 20, the RUSSIA EXPO hosted a musical tournament "From Russian Roots to Our Days", where three bright groups of the Lugansk People's Republic  the People's Vocal Ensemble "Zabava", the People's Theater Studio "Blue Bird" and the Variety Music and Song Theater of Lugansk — came together in a kind of creative duel.

In accordance with the name of the tournament, each group displayed on stage one of the three historical segments of our country's culture. "Russian roots" were presented by the folk vocal ensemble "Zabava" of Novosvetlovsky District House of Culture. The ensemble has an extensive and varied repertoire and is a regular participant and winner of numerous competitions and festivals. The artists demonstrated traditional folk art of the Slobozhanshchina region, acquainted the audience with the traditions of the region, treated them with soft loaf and presented them with bouquets of fragrant medicinal herbs.

Page of the history of the Don Cossacks was presented by the People's Theater Studio "Blue Bird" of Sukhodolsky Palace of Culture named after Oleg Koshevoy. This ensemble has not just individual musical numbers, but whole performances, theatricalized folk rituals and variety concerts under its belt. It is not for nothing that the ensemble is actively touring both in the LPR and throughout Russia. At the RUSSIA EXPO, the ensemble presented songs and fragments of traditional rituals of the Cossack region.

The creative competition was completed by a professional musical group — the orchestra of the State Institution "Theater of Variety Music and Song of Lugansk", created to the 200th anniversary of the city of Lugansk in 1995 by Merited Worker of Culture of the Ukrainian SSR Georgiy Snagovskiy.

In the tournament musicians glorified the labor of miners, addressed the theme of the Great Patriotic War and the Special Military Operation, in the language of art told about patriotism, love for the Motherland and other universal values. The audience was especially impressed by the famous SHAMAN song "Let's Stand Up", performed by the soloist of the orchestra, a participant of the Special Military Operation Alexei Tkachev, also performing under the pseudonym Bulgakov. At the very beginning of this concert number, the audience, without collusion, rose from their seats and did not return to their places until the last note.

The creative programs presented by all the participants of the tournament were so interesting and original that the winner, of course, was the friendship and unity of the Russian people.
