The National Centre RUSSIA congratulates the Kurgan region on its 82nd anniversary
One of the regions of the Ural Federal District, the Kurgan region, celebrates its 82nd anniversary today, February 6.
"The Kurgan region, created during the days of a major turning point — the Victory at Stalingrad — has inherited the genes of Victory. And it has itself become a symbol of Victory. A symbol of a decisive breakthrough. Just as 82 years ago, today it is tackling the most important tasks together with the entire country. Moreover, this year, the region’s contributions during the Great Patriotic War have been recognized at the national level. Kurgan has been awarded the title of 'City of Labor Valor.' Now, our Kurgan region has transformed from a nationwide symbol of depression into a leading region and a symbol of the fastest-growing economy, industry, wages, and incomes in the country. The gross regional product is growing at an accelerated pace. Housing construction is rapidly increasing. The volume of urban improvements is constantly expanding. We are quickly building and restoring our bridges, roads, utilities, industrial, and social infrastructure. We are growing and developing," said the Governor of the Kurgan Region, Vadim Shumkov.
