The National Centre RUSSIA congratulates the Ivanovo region on the Region's Day
On June 20, the Ivanovo Region celebrates the 107th anniversary of the establishment of the Ivanovo-Voznesenskaya province, the administrative predecessor of the region. The decree on its creation was signed in 1918 by the People's Commissariat of Internal Affairs of the RSFSR.
The Ivanovo Region is a part of the Central Federal District, which is represented at the "Journey Across Russia" expo at the National Centre RUSSIA. Visitors of the expo can explore the famous tourist route called the "Golden Ring", which goes through the cities that have played an important role in the development of Orthodoxy in our country, and have a historical value. The city of Ivanovo is one of them.
The exposition includes an interactive zone, which presents a kind of portals to the cities of the "Golden Ring" — windows in which you can see the main tourist attractions.
"The Ivanovo region is the center of small towns in Russia, and they are the future of our country. It is more comfortable to live and raise a family in such towns, people there hold on to traditional principles more tightly and feel safer here. We want not only to preserve small towns, but also to make them points of economic growth and investment, which fully corresponds to the concept of updating the industrial framework of the country. We strive to create the most comfortable environment for families with children in the Ivanovo region — this is the main priority of the region. In small towns, we are implementing social programs, updating infrastructure, and launching unique projects aimed at creating and supporting families," said Stanislav Voskresensky, Governor of the Ivanovo Region.
He stressed that the Ivanovo region is an amazing land where tourism is developing. This year marks the 800th anniversary of one of the oldest cities in the region, Yurievets, founded in 1225.
On behalf of the Russian President Vladimir Putin, the celebration of the 800th anniversary of Yurievets is taking place at the federal level. Stanislav Voskresensky added that on the eve of the Yurievets' anniversary, major infrastructural changes have been made: site improvements, reconstruction of social facilities and roads, conducting the gas infrastructure to the houses, and much more. A large event program is taking place in the region all summer.
The Ivanovo region is a unique place in central Russia, where traditions and innovations are organically combined. The governor invited citizens of Russia to personally see this region.
