The National Centre RUSSIA congratulates the Murmansk region on Regional Day
05.28

The Murmansk region celebrates 87 years since the founding of the region on May 28. The region received its modern name and status in 1938. At that time, a resolution of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee was approved on the liquidation of the Murmansk district of the Leningrad region and the formation of the Murmansk region.

The exposition "Journey Across Russia" at the National Centre RUSSIA presents the North-Western Federal District, which includes the Murmansk region. During the tour, visitors can travel across the entire country in an hour, becoming acquainted with its industrial achievements and natural beauty.

The exposition features the Khibiny deposit — the largest apatite-nepheline deposit located in the Khibiny mountain range on the Kola Peninsula — and the "Arctic Crab" glamping site in the village of Teriberka.

"Unique landscapes, the richest natural resources, enormous industrial potential — all this is our region. And of course, remarkable people: with strong character, northern hospitality and kindness. Murmansk and the Murmansk region set an example of dynamic, progressive development for all Arctic regions. Behind the high assessment given by President of Russia Vladimir Putin lies the work of hundreds of thousands of northerners. Together we implement projects that are significant for the entire country, and a number of important initiatives have been supported by the head of state. Together we are changing the face of cities, developing the economy and all areas of the social sphere. We are doing everything to ensure that the Murmansk region remains one of the most promising regions of the Arctic, a place where people want to live, love and build a future. And we will continue to preserve the traditions of the Kola land, create new opportunities for children and care for the elderly. It is only thanks to our joint efforts that the region is changing for the better!" noted Andrei Chibis, Governor of the Murmansk Region.

Tours of the exposition "Journey Across Russia" can be visited free of charge, with advance registration. All details are available on the National Centre RUSSIA website in the "Events" section.
