The National Centre RUSSIA congratulates the Voronezh region on its foundation day

The Voronezh region celebrates 91 years since its foundation on June 13. The region was formed on June 13, 1934 by a Decree of the Presidium of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee of the RSFSR.

The Voronezh region is part of the Central Federal District, which is presented at the "Journey Across Russia" exposition at the National Centre RUSSIA.

"The Voronezh region is a place where the harmonious combination of past and present creates the energy of the future. It is an ancient, soulful, beautiful land. Every inch of it is imbued with the spirit of the times. Many events that occurred here have left their mark on the history of our great country. The history of the Russian fleet began on Voronezh soil, inhabited by skilful and strong-spirited people. Today, an exact replica of the battleship "Goto Predestinatsia," monuments to Peter the Great in the city centre, and other memorial sites proudly remind us of this," noted Alexander Gusev, Governor of the Voronezh Region.

Today, 2.3 million people reside in the Voronezh region. Dozens of large industrial enterprises are developing in the region. The legendary Il-96 — the aircraft of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin — is manufactured and serviced at the aviation plant.

Based on the 2024 results, the region ranked first in the country for the production volume of sunflower oil and butter, and for the number of certified organic producers.

There are 258 specially protected natural areas in the Voronezh region, and one of Europe's cleanest rivers — the Khoper River — flows through it.

Guests of the National Centre RUSSIA can familiarise themselves with the cultural legacy, natural riches, and scientific and industrial achievements of the entire Central Federal District during a tour of the "Journey Across Russia" exposition, which is dedicated to all eight federal districts.
