The National Centre RUSSIA congratulates Zabaykalye on its anniversary
On March 1,
the youngest region of the Far Eastern Federal District, Zabaykalsky region,
celebrates its anniversary. The region appeared on the map of Russia 17 years
ago. Integration into the Far Eastern Federal District has contributed to the
development of education, healthcare, sports, and culture, emphasized the
Governor of the Zabaykalsky Region, Alexander Osipov.
"Zabaykalye
serves as Russia's strategic land gateway to China and is one of the country's
richest regions in terms of solid mineral resources. Its diverse natural
landscapes offer breathtaking views, inspiring travelers and tourists alike. As
we mark the 80th anniversary of Victory and the Year of the Defender of the
Fatherland, it is important to remember that the Zabaykalsky Front, headquartered
in Chita, played a key role in the defeat of the Kwantung Army, bringing an end
to World War II. Today, Zabaykalsky region stands among the leading regions in
terms of the number of Heroes of Russia who have distinguished themselves in
the Special Military Operation," said Alexander Osipov.
The key
economic assets of the Russian Far East will be presented at the National
Centre RUSSIA in the large-scale exposition "Journey Across Russia,"

region’s main natural landmarks and the culture of the indigenous
small-numbered peoples of Chukotka. Visitors will also learn about key economic
sites, including the Vostochny Cosmodrome, the Far Eastern Federal University,
and the Primorsky Aquarium. The exposition will feature video content,
infographics, decorations, photo zones, and VR technology to provide a fully
