The National Centre RUSSIA presents its first magazine, "Lev"
The first issue of a magazine published by the National Centre RUSSIA has been released. The publication is titled "Lev" ("Lion"). Its inaugural issue focuses on the theme of the future and is conceived as a genuine "time capsule" for readers.
"The future rarely arrives all at once. More often, it emerges almost imperceptibly — through new ideas, discoveries and the questions we are only beginning to ask ourselves," the editorial introduction reads.
"Lev" is a conversation with readers about culture, science, architecture, technology, urban development and society. The magazine will explore the people, ideas and phenomena that are reshaping our understanding of Russia and the wider world.
The title also carries symbolic meaning. The lion — the symbol of the National Centre RUSSIA — represents the strength of the state, prosperity, protection of the home and the continuity of generations in Russian culture.
"The lion reminds us of the past and gives us the strength to move forward. Into the future," the message to readers states.
Spanning 320 pages, the first issue brings together a wide range of perspectives on the future. It features a retrospective of early twentieth-century postcards produced by the Einem confectionery factory depicting imagined visions of Moscow's future; an interview with Academician Viktor Tutelyan on healthy nutrition; philosophers' reflections on the nature of the future; and articles on education, space exploration, fashion, transport and the arts.
A special highlight of the magazine is "Day of the Image", a short story by science fiction writer Roman Afanasyev, published for the first time, alongside a review of 12 iconic science fiction films that anticipated the future.
Readers are encouraged to keep this collector's edition, as over time it will become more than a set of predictions — it will serve as a document of its era. The publication is intended to help readers better understand the present and look more thoughtfully towards the future.
The magazine is available for purchase at the Department Store RUSSIA.
One of the day's key events was a training session on working with children who have experienced psychological trauma.
The unified brand will connect regions, cities and towns, tourist attractions, and products into a single, cohesive destination for visitors.
