The National Centre RUSSIA invites guests to the musical program "Maslenitsa. Time of Traditions"
25.02.2025

On March 2, guests of the National Centre RUSSIA will experience a unique multi-genre musical program, "Maslenitsa. Time of Traditions." The uniqueness of the program lies in its format: artists will combine different musical genres on a single stage. Using familiar instruments, performers will reveal new facets of the holiday — opera soloists will sing alongside a folk ensemble, beatboxing will merge with classical music, and a DJ will prepare a mix of folk and electronic music. The event starts at 19:00.

The multi-genre program is divided into three sections. The first section is dedicated to the traditions of Maslenitsa, the second focuses on the revival of the Russian romance tradition, and in the third, guests of the National Centre RUSSIA will welcome the arrival of spring. The event is designed for a wide audience.

The program participants include:

— The Vocal Ensemble Arielle. Finalists and silver medalists of the television project "Let’s Go Together." The ensemble was founded in 2014 at the initiative of Elmira Dadasheva, a graduate of the Moscow Conservatory, and brought together graduates of Russia's top music universities. The group is known for its unique approach to performing classical and contemporary pieces, combining academic vocal technique with a vivid stage presence.

— The Moscow State Symphony Orchestra. Artistic Director — Merited Artist of Russia Ivan Rudin. The orchestra is one of Russia’s leading ensembles, renowned for its interpretations of classical and contemporary music. The program's conductor is Arif Dadashev, conductor of the Stanislavski and Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theatre and a guest conductor at the Mariinsky Theatre. Arif Dadashev is known for his innovative approaches to classical works and his active concert career.

Opera soloists:

— Guzel Sharipova (soprano) — soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre, known for her distinctive timbre and outstanding stage charisma. She performs leading roles in the world opera repertoire.

— Ksenia Dezhneva (soprano) — soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre, renowned for her deep interpretations and masterful vocal technique.

World Beatbox Champion Vakhtang. Vakhtang is an eight-time Russian champion, European champion, and world champion in beatboxing. His performances are distinguished by a unique combination of vocal technique and rhythmic complexity. In the program, he will present his original beatbox arrangement of Polovtsian Dances from the opera Prince Igor ("Fly away on the wings of the wind...").

— Folklore DJ Arif. Arif is a renowned DJ specializing in folklore electronic music. His works blend traditional motifs with modern rhythms, creating a unique sound. As part of the program, he will present his original electronic arrangements of Russian folk compositions.

— Folk Dance Ensemble Paraskeva. The ensemble is led by Merited Artist of the Republic of Mordovia, Inna Kameneva. Paraskeva is known for its vibrant performances rooted in folk dance traditions.
