Folk music and quiz: how did the Republic of Dagestan’s stand opening go at the new exposition of the National Centre RUSSIA
On 2 September, the stand of the Republic of Dagestan was officially opened at the National Centre RUSSIA. It was done as part of the exposition "Region-2030. Platform of the Future", thus launching the Days of the Regions.
The cultural and educational programme began with national dances. An orchestra of folk instruments performed instrumental compositions of different peoples of Dagestan for guests, and Abdulla Magomedmirzaev, People's Artist of the Republic of Dagestan, sang several songs.
The quiz "Touristic Dagestan" was also held at the stand. What village was painted by the famous painter Aivazovsky during his trip to the Caucasus, and what is the name of the northernmost subtropical forest on the planet? Everyone could try to answer these and some other questions about the sights and cultural features of the republic. The participants who gave correct answers received the gifts.
The exposition of the Republic of Dagestan at the National Centre RUSSIA showcases key projects for the development of the region, including glass and fruit-and-vegetable clusters, the "City of Shoemakers", a wind power plant and a transport and logistics complex. Special attention is paid to the Caspian Coastal Cluster, a large-scale project in the field of maritime tourism. The interactive map visualizes tourist routes and industrial facilities. The artistic image is inspired by the architecture of mountainous Dagestan, with an emphasis on defensive structures such as the stylized tower in the village of Goor.
