The National Centre RUSSIA signed memorandums on the formation of a unified approach to developing the country’s visual code
At the National Centre RUSSIA, memorandums of cooperation dedicated to the country’s visual code were signed. The first document was signed with the Moscow Investors Club. The memorandum implies joint work on the visual image of Russia in the field of architecture and urban planning. The second document was signed by the National Centre RUSSIA and the Joint-Stock Company "Marka." The memorandum is dedicated to joint efforts to promote the visual image of Russia.
Both memorandums are aimed at creating a unified system of visual identity of the Russian Federation, forming a clear and distinct image of the modern era in our history, as well as promoting traditional Russian spiritual and moral values through architecture, design, and other forms of visual communication.
The agreement between the National Centre RUSSIA and the Moscow Investors Club, which today unites all the largest developers in the country, was signed by the Director General of the National Centre RUSSIA Natalia Virtuozova and the Executive Director of the Moscow Investors Club Vladislav Preobrazhenskiy. The document provides for the development of a sovereign visual code that corresponds to Russia’s development at the current historical stage and is oriented toward the image of its future. The formation of a unified architectural code will take into account Russia’s architectural traditions, as well as the visual and artistic features corresponding to the peoples and nationalities of the country. Vladislav Preobrazhenskiy noted that the successful development of Russia’s architectural code requires the synergy of efforts from urbanists, sociologists, historians, cultural experts, designers, and, of course, builders.
"Through the joint efforts of the National Centre RUSSIA and the Investors Club, a dialogue will be organised within the expert community, the result of which will be the development of unified approaches to a sovereign architectural and visual code of the country. Within the framework of the memorandum signed today, we will conduct regular consultations addressing issues related to the development of state visual codes in architecture that convey national values and meanings to the younger generation," said Vladislav Preobrazhenskiy.
The second memorandum was the signed document on cooperation between the National Centre RUSSIA and JSC "Marka." The state company is a publisher and distributor of official postage stamps and philatelic products with unique design. Together with the National Centre RUSSIA, JSC "Marka" plans to develop and implement a new visual style that reflects Russia’s sovereignty and leadership in the modern world, embodying its unique history, culture, and traditions, said Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC "Marka" Dmitry Panishev.
"The National Centre RUSSIA is implementing very interesting projects, among them the expert programme 'Looking into the Future', within the framework of which this memorandum was signed. Russia definitely needs a cultural code, and work in this direction is already underway. While previously it had not been formalised, now it is clearly defined in wording. The miniature artworks depicted on stamps are also a part of visualisation. We hope that the National Centre RUSSIA will provide us with ideas that we will promote, among other things, through classical digital methods — for example, in the form of beautiful postal cards with augmented reality," emphasised Dmitry Panishev.
The National Centre is creating a space for the formation of a unified visual code of the country, one that preserves the cultural diversity of the regions and conveys values and meanings through modern design and architectural solutions.
