Every year, on 12 June, we feel especially clearly what it means to be part of a vast and remarkable country with a centuries-old history, a multifaceted culture and a heroic people. On this day, our great Motherland celebrates one of its youngest and, at the same time, one of its main national holidays: Russia Day.

The date of the celebration falls on 12 June for a reason. On this day in 1990, the Declaration of State Sovereignty of the RSFSR was adopted, marking the beginning of a new stage in the history of our country. Later, in 1994, this date became known as the Day of the Adoption of the Declaration of State Sovereignty of Russia, and only in 2002 as Russia Day. In the modern history of our country, this is not just a holiday, but also a vivid embodiment of its independence, continuity of traditions and aspiration for the future.

Russia Day is addressed to each of us, regardless of age, profession, interests or place of residence. It is intended to remind us of our common roots, shared culture and collective responsibility for the fate of a vast country stretching from Vladivostok to Kaliningrad. On this day, we pay tribute to the symbols of Russian statehood: the flag, the coat of arms and the anthem. We honour those who, through their work, talent and love for the country, prove every day that Russia has been, is and will remain a great power. It is a holiday of pride in the past, filled with brilliant victories and difficult trials, an occasion to reflect on the present and a source of hope for the future.

The National Centre RUSSIA has a special role to play in the large-scale celebration of Russia Day. Created as a space for preserving and showcasing cultural legacy, the achievements of the regions and the formation of an image of the future, the National Centre RUSSIA fully embodies the atmosphere of this holiday. Numerous expositions, lectures, forums, multi-genre concert programmes and meetings with outstanding compatriots — everything that takes place within its space serves one purpose: to demonstrate the greatness and diversity of our country, inspire young people to create and remind everyone that Russia is not simply a territory in which to live, but a shared destiny for millions of people.

May Russia Day become a link between traditions and innovations, an occasion for good deeds and warm words for those around us. Happiness, peace and prosperity to our common Motherland!
