Leningrad Week at the RUSSIA EXPO
A week
dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Leningrad's complete liberation from the
Nazi blockade has begun at the RUSSIA EXPO. All the week, up to and including
January 28, the St. Petersburg exposition will host activities, quizzes and
workshops dedicated to the liberation of the Northern Capital.
The main
theme of the stand will be the connection of generations. The guests will be
able to design a route of the blockade streetcar, attend a medal making class,
dial a historical telephone, send a letter to the past, to the future or a
postcard to the heroes of the SMO.
Understanding
the life of Leningraders of that time will be helped by the book The ABC of the
Besieged Leningrad, which was presented to the guests of the exposition by the
writer Evgeny Lukin. Among the heroes of the work are commander Zinovy
Kolobanov, who destroyed 22 German tanks in one battle, pilot Alexei
Sevostyanov, who rammed down a Nazi bomber, as well as the author of mosaic
panels for the Moscow subway Vladimir Frolov.
"Such a
book, frankly speaking, has not been published yet. It consists of two
sections. One part is prose prose, there are essays with information. And the
other part is poetry. The subtitle says that the book is for parents, too, for
a reason. After all, not all parents know in detail what happened during the
blockade period," said Evgeny Lukin.
The special
exposition prepared at the St. Petersburg stand to celebrate the 80th
anniversary of liberation from the blockade includes a model of the new Museum
of Defence and Blockade of Leningrad. Visitors will see how the large-scale
historical complex will look like with a fund storage and restoration block, a
library, the Institute of the History of the Defence and Blockade of Leningrad,
a youth media center and a theater area. The stand will also host the
presentation of the interregional electronic project United by War: Evacuation
from Leningrad and Return Home, dedicated to the fates of evacuees of
Leningrad.
The National Centre RUSSIA will host a series of presentations titled "Journey Across Russia's Gastronomic Festivals."
The National Centre RUSSIA today meets the needs of various professional communities for communication and exchange of experience.
During the tour of the expansive exposition, the Chairman of the Government highlighted the significance of the display.
