Nikita Pimenov on the video essay contest at the National Centre RUSSIA: "Children are the main authors of the future"
Registration is currently underway at the National Centre RUSSIA for the second season of the All-Russian video essay competition "Dreams of the Future". Schoolchildren aged 12–15 and 16–18 are invited to participate. As noted by Nikita Pimenov, host of the Open Lecture Hall "Inventing the Future" at the National Centre RUSSIA, and Candidate of Political Sciences, children are capable of dreaming about tomorrow most sincerely and boldly, which is why they have become the main protagonists of the project.
"We often talk about the future, make plans, devise strategies, and discuss them. But the most interesting future, of course, lies in children's dreams. That is why we have launched the second contest of video essays, 'Dreams of the Future'. And children are their main authors and participants," said the Lecture Hall host, journalist, actor, educator, and Candidate of Political Sciences, Nikita Pimenov.
The All-Russian video essay contest "Dreams of the Future" is an original project of the National Centre RUSSIA, dedicated to popularising the legacy of Russian and Soviet science fiction. Its entrants receive a unique opportunity for creative self-expression: in their competition entries, they will show the future they want to shape and will be able to reinterpret the ideas and plots of science fiction writers who have left their mark on the imagination of millions of readers worldwide. The project aims to engage the younger generation in research, creative, and innovative activities, and to foster interest in the works of science fiction authors.
The best video works will be presented on the big screen during the competition finals at the National Centre RUSSIA. Winners will also receive valuable prizes and opportunities for further advancement on their creative path. More details about the contest and submitting the applications are available on the website dream.russia.ru.
