Nikita Pimenov: "The Motherland begins with the place where my parents live"
What is the Motherland — the entire vast country or one
special place you always want to return to? The All-Russian survey "What
Does the Motherland Begin With?" shows how multifaceted, diverse and
boundless the understanding of this word is. It means one’s parental home,
beloved people and native language. Journalist, actor, teacher and Candidate of
Political Sciences Nikita Pimenov shared his answer.
"For me, the Motherland begins with the place where I
grew up, where my parents live and, of course, with my native language, when I
am greeted with 'Good morning!'" Nikita Pimenov said.
In the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, declared by
the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, the National Centre
RUSSIA launched the All-Russian survey "What Does the Motherland Begin
With?". The project brings citizens together around shared values and love
for the country and is being implemented jointly with the Government of the
Russian Federation and federal executive authorities. It is aimed at
strengthening civic identity, preserving cultural diversity and shaping
nationwide values through dialogue between generations and regions.
