New bridges, a world-class campus and colossal investments — Yaroslavl Region Day at the RUSSIA EXPO
Mikhail Yevrayev, Governor of the Yaroslavl region, spoke about its successes. For 10 years the region’s industry has attracted over 57 billion rubles, thousands of new jobs have been created. Large-scale investment projects worth about 250 billion rubles are being implemented.
"Today is a great holiday — the Day of the Yaroslavl Region at the RUSSIA EXPO. The exposition is indeed very interesting — it is very eventful. I would like to thank President Vladimir Putin for the initiative to hold it. It is with great pride and responsibility that I represent our region with its beauty, nature, rich cultural, spiritual, historical heritage, sincere people. All districts of the region are unique. We are waiting for everyone — it is better to see everything with your own eyes", — emphasized Mikhail Yevrayev.
This year the construction of a new, third bridge across the Volga River in the territory of the regional capital will begin, the construction of new terminals at the airport Tunoshna is planned — it will allow to receive more than one million passengers a year.
A world-class Mercury campus will be established at the P.A. Solovyov Rybinsk State Aviation Technical University (RSATU).
Throughout the day, the guests of the Exposition were cheered by the participants of the Ded Moroz Invasion — an annual all-Russian festival held in Rybinsk, as well as fairy-tale characters Moroz Voevoda (General Frost) and bogatyr Alyosha Popovich. Masters of folk crafts gave lessons on Gayuta painting, weaving, Romanov bobbin lace and making a Danilov doll.
The International RUSSIA EXPO is the most important achievements of the country gathered in one place. Visitors are presented expositions of 89 regions of Russia, leading federal departments, corporations and public organizations.
The final session of the Open Dialogue "Future of the World. New Platform for Global Growth" took place at the National Centre RUSSIA on the closing day, April 30.
