The new movie "The Flying Ship" was presented at the RUSSIA EXPO
The Rosneft pavilion at the RUSSIA EXPO hosted a creative meeting with the authors of the fairy tale film "The Flying Ship", which the audience will see in cinemas from March 21. The movie "The Flying Ship" directed by Ilya Uchitel was based on a Soviet cartoon made by Garry Bardin in 1979.
"To create a fairy tale based on a cartoon that everyone has watched millions of times and everyone grew up on was not easy, of course. The running time of the cartoon is 15 minutes. And we had to reinvent the plot, so that it would consist not only of songs that everyone knows and loves. We repeatedly rewrote the script, trying to make it even better, funnier and more interesting," said the director of the movie "The Flying Ship" Ilya Uchitel.
According to him, since "The Flying Ship" is a fairy tale, a lot of special effects were used in the movie to make it spectacular: "Filming took place in five pavilions of Mosfilm. Huge sets were built - the throne room, Zabava's room, Baba-Yagas' hut. And the flying ship was built life-size. A lot of high-tech graphics were used in editing. It is possible to tell about each scene separately. But it's better to watch the fairy tale first".
Ilya Uchitel told about the star cast. According to the concept, Vanya and Zabava should be played by young actors who are not among the most famous and familiar. Instead, they decided to surround them with stars of the first magnitude, such as Leonid Yarmolnik, Fyodor Dobronravov, Andrei Burkovsky, Polina Gagarina and Sergei Garmash, who voiced the Vodyanoy (water spirit).
"It is an incredible happiness and a great honor to be a producer of such a large-scale project. In the Year of the Family, such movies will have huge popularity. The viewer is ready to watch a big movie made with the use of high technology. But it is a great responsibility to take on such material, given that everyone remembers and loves the cartoon on the motives of which the fairy tale is based. But it seems to me that we managed to add something new and modern, everyone will love the new characters and will be happy to watch "The Flying Ship" - 2024," said Anastasia Hakobyan, the producer of the movie, during the creative meeting.
