The new functionality will allow payments using QR codes not only for purchases in stores. This was discussed at the regular meeting of the Council of Participants and Users of the Payment Market, chaired by the General Director of the National Payment Card System (NSPK), Dmitry Dubynin. The meeting took place at the National Centre RUSSIA.

The Council is a platform for discussing possible directions for the development of the payment market. More than 20 organizations participated in the meeting, including representatives from banks, marketplaces, fiscal data operators, and other companies.

One of the topics discussed was the expansion of QR payment functionality. Dmitry Dubynin noted that NSPK is currently working on the possibility of integrating the universal QR code with other payment solutions based on QR codes.

"The concept of combining the universal QR code with other fintech services is actively being developed. We are collaborating with providers of such solutions. The integration of technologies will standardize the payment process via QR codes, for example, for utility payments or tips. This will make it more convenient for citizens," said Dmitry Dubynin.

The meeting also discussed the need for structural changes within the council, the development of biometric payment services, and other issues.
