Director of the Trade, Investment and Innovation Division of the The Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), Rupa Chanda from India, will be another foreign speaker at the Open Dialogue. The expert session will be held on 5 September at the first branch of the National Centre RUSSIA in the Primorye region.

"Perhaps it is worth starting with regional or sub-regional coordination. It is important to understand what role existing trade agreements may play, what lessons they give us, and what preconditions are needed. For example, digital identities, interoperability, common standards," Rupa Chanda says. "At the Open Dialogue, I will emphasize the need for standards, cooperation, exchange of practices and harmonization of regulation. The greater number of countries makes experiments, the higher the risk of regulatory fragmentation. Therefore, it is important, especially for the countries in the Global South, to work on regulatory convergence."

An expert session under the thematic vector "Investments in Connectivity" will be held in Vladivostok, in the space of the first branch of the National Centre RUSSIA in the Primorye region, on 5 September. Both Russian and foreign experts will take part in the subsession "Transformation of Trade And Connectivity Institutions in the New Reality." Among them will be representatives of India, China, Indonesia, Bangladesh. The topic of discussion will be the development of international trade in the coming decades.
