Olympic champion Maxim Khramtsov taught the Exposition guests the basics of taekwondo
On June 13, the RUSSIA EXPO hosted a taekwondo masterclass by Maxim Khramtsov, the first Olympic taekwondo champion in the history of Russian sports. The event was held with the support of the Russian Society "Knowledge".
"Taekwondo is an Olympic sport. At the Olympics held in Tokyo, our team won the first overall team place. We earned the first ever Olympic gold in this sport," said Maxim Khramtsov, Olympic taekwondo champion, world champion, two-time European champion, champion of the 2019 Military Games.
During the event, the athlete talked to the guests of the Exposition and answered their questions.
"As a child, I practiced a non-Olympic sport. A taekwondo coach came to our city, he told me about the Olympics and that thanks to taekwondo you can get to the Olympic Games. I switched to taekwondo, my eyes lit up, and since then I have two training sessions every day. Just yesterday I returned from the training camp," Maxim Khramtsov noted.
After the masterclass, the Olympic champion shared his impressions of the event.
"Well done everybody! Both people who are already into taekwondo and those who are not involved in sports at all came here. Children like this martial art," Maxim Khramtsov said.
The International RUSSIA EXPO showcases the country's most significant achievements all in one place. Expositions from 89 regions of Russia, leading federal agencies, corporations and public organizations are on display. The RUSSIA EXPO has already been visited by over 15 million people.
