The National Centre RUSSIA has published the lists of participants admitted to the in-person stage of the selection process for the second season of its original project, the "Young Journalists School". The remote stage has concluded. Applications were received from 70 constituent entities of the Russian Federation, representing all eight federal districts, including the historical territories. Participation was particularly strong in the regions where the in-person training programme will be held: Moscow and the Moscow Region, the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area — Yugra, the Ryazan Region and the Primorye Territory. Among the regions whose applicants are seeking places on the online module, the Stavropol Territory, the Sakhalin Region, the Penza Region and the Donetsk People's Republic submitted the most applications.

School pupils and college students aged 12–17 from across the country submitted applications and completed creative tasks: they wrote original essays and prepared video presentations of up to 90 seconds. Previous media experience was not required: the main selection criteria were motivation, an interest in media, creative potential and a willingness to develop their skills.

Participants admitted to the in-person stage will continue through the selection process. For residents of Moscow and the Moscow Region, the in-person assessments will be held at the National Centre RUSSIA. The in-person format is also available to participants from Vladivostok, Krasnoyarsk, Khanty-Mansiysk and Ryazan, who will write an assessed essay and attend an interview at the branches.

New this season is an online module designed specifically for young people from regions where the National Centre RUSSIA does not yet have branches. It allows talented school pupils and college students from across the country, from Kaliningrad to Sakhalin, to participate remotely: studying the programme, completing assignments and working on their own media projects under the guidance of mentors. The project thus reaches the whole country, while the online format makes it accessible regardless of where participants live.

The "Young Journalists School" is a large-scale original project by the National Centre RUSSIA. It aims to train a new generation of media professionals and build a talent pool to support the country's information sovereignty.

Congratulations to the participants admitted to the in-person stage, and good luck in the selection process!

The full list of participants who passed the remote stage is available in the "Participants" section of the Young Journalists School project page on the National Centre RUSSIA's website.
