Conscious generation: shaping of environmental trends was discussed at the RUSSIA EXPO
On April
27, as part of the National Priorities Day: Ecology an expert session
"Conscious Generation: How Youth Projects Shape Environmental Trends
Today" was held, during which current issues in the field of youth policy
and ecology were discussed.
"It is
no secret that youth projects in the field of ecology have the greatest impact
on the shaping of environmental culture. Our guests today will talk about
projects in the environmental sphere aimed at young people, about projects that
form this culture," said the moderator of the session, executive director
of the Ecosystem Russian Ecological Public Movement Mikhail Kamilov.
Alexandra
Ryabykh spoke about the extent of the environmental agenda among all segments
of the Russian population, including young people.
"Russian
business today demonstrates best practices in greening, and non-profit
organizations show interest in implementing environmental initiatives. The
population of our country is forming patterns of environmental behavior. And
business is interested in implementing environmental projects, among other
things, because the people of Russia have a demand for it. Today, environmental
trends and trends of leanness are synonymous. And these trends are prioritized
in the younger generation - according to research results, more than 66% of
young people in our country say that the model of overconsumption is absolutely
irrelevant today," said Alexandra Ryabykh, co-chair of the Ecosystem
Russian Ecological Public Movement.
Mikhail
Dankin, Head of the Department of Environmental Projects of the Movement of the
First, touched upon the topic of environmental projects implemented by the
Movement of the First in his speech.
"In
2022 the President of Russia instructed to revive the activities of the
movement of young naturalists on the basis of the Movement of the First. The
movement of young naturalists is one of the oldest in our country, its history
goes back more than 105 years. Children together with their mentors get
acquainted with the world of wildlife through direct involvement in practical
work. We would like every schoolchild in the country to go at least once to
nature, to a protected area, to the forest to study the flora and fauna of
their native land," emphasized Mikhail Dankin, Head of the Department of
Environmental Projects of the Movement of the First.
The event
was also attended by the Chairman of the Public Council of Roshydromet of the
Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Russia, State Secretary of the
All-Russian Public Organization "Ecological Chamber of Russia" Vadim
Petrov, the head of volunteer groups of ANO "Clean Arctic", member of
the Coordination Council of the Ecosystem Russian Ecological Public Movement
Anastasia Faterina, Director General of ANO "Energy of Development"
Olga Shkabardnya and Director of ANO "Center for Social Research and
Educational Initiatives", member of the Coordination Council of the
