From language practice to new discoveries: foreign diplomats take an educational tour of the National Centre RUSSIA
Staff from diplomatic missions had an opportunity to learn
more about the country where they live and work and practise Russian through
real-life communication at the National Centre RUSSIA. The tour was attended by
diplomats from 12 countries: Turkey, Ghana, Ethiopia, Brunei, Mongolia,
Pakistan, Iraq, Sudan, Cameroon, Cuba, the Republic of Korea and Morocco.
The educational tour was organised by lecturers from RUDN University as part of
the "Russian for Diplomats" project, which has been implemented by
Patrice Lumumba Peoples' Friendship University of Russia since 2 March 2026 at
the initiative of its Rector, O. A. Yastrebov. To date, 145 diplomats from 52
countries have joined this major educational project organised by RUDN
University.
The tour of the "Journey Across Russia" exposition gave the diplomats an opportunity not only to expand their knowledge of the country but also to practise Russian in a natural setting by listening to the guide, asking questions and discussing what they had seen.
"For me, it was a real journey across Russia. Although I have lived here for eight years, the tour helped me learn many new things and see just how beautiful and diverse your country is. It was particularly interesting to follow the journey from achievements in space exploration to sport. The guide's account was very detailed and helped me gain a better understanding of the exposition. I would rate the tour ten out of ten," said the Counsellor for Security and Internal Affairs at the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in the Russian Federation, Mustafa Uluhan Baysal.
The Trade Attache at the Embassy of Turkey in Moscow, Cansu Saziye Tanriverdi, was particularly impressed by the section dedicated to Siberia. She had previously visited the Caucasus and other regions of Russia, but discovering Siberia at the exposition was a revelation for her.
"Siberia made an enormous impression on me. It seems almost magical — so extraordinary that it is difficult to describe in words. During the tour, I felt as though I had already been there. Now I am especially eager to see Siberia with my own eyes," Cansu Saziye Tanriverdi said.
The delegation included representatives of Turkey, Ghana, Ethiopia, Brunei,
Mongolia, Pakistan, Iraq, Sudan, Cameroon, Cuba, the Republic of Korea and
Morocco. They visited the
"Journey Across Russia" exposition as part of a Russian-language
programme for members of the diplomatic corps of foreign states working in the
Russian Federation.
The discussion of advanced technology continued at the Gastronomic Rows with the culinary workshop "Chef and AI: Who Creates the Flavour?".
