From 27 January to 1 February, Republic of Karelia Days will take place within the "Book of Fairy Tales" exposition at the National Centre RUSSIA. As part of the programme, guests will be able to explore the culture, nature, traditions, landmarks, and strategic potential of one of the most distinctive and tourist-attractive regions of the Russian North.

The central event of the regional themed days will be the presentation of the development strategy "Republic of Karelia — 2030", which will be personally delivered by the Head of the Republic, Artur Parfenchikov, on 29 January. The same day will also feature important business meetings, including the signing of an agreement with the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives and a working dialogue with Director General of JSC Transmashholding Kirill Lipa.

The packed business agenda will also include an industry meeting on the forestry sector of the North-West, held jointly with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, as well as a presentation of the master plan for the Kostomuksha Municipal District through to 2035. In the evening, regional branches of the Young Industrialists’ Club for the North-West Federal District will discuss prospects for cooperation.

Special attention in the programme of the themed week will be given to young people and families. On 31 January, the Head of the Republic will meet with school pupils from the patronage city of Vasylyevka in the Zaporozhye region and, together with them, take part in a guided tour of the Republic of Karelia stand at the "Book of Fairy Tales" exposition and the "Journey Across Russia" exposition. In addition, the National Centre RUSSIA will host a ceremonial signing of a cooperation agreement between the region and the All-Russian Children and Youth Military-Patriotic Public Movement Yunarmiya. The day will conclude with a warm meeting between Artur Parfenchikov and large families who were previously awarded trips to Moscow.

A striking visual backdrop to all days of the Republic of Karelia themed week at the "Book of Fairy Tales" exposition will be an exposition by photo artist Igor Georgievsky, a member of the Russian Union of Journalists and the Russian Geographical Society. The exposition is dedicated to the completion of the restoration of one of the main jewels of Russian wooden architecture — the Church of the Transfiguration at the Kizhi Museum-Reserve.

We remind you that all events at the National Centre RUSSIA are free of charge. Some events require prior registration on the russia.ru website. The current schedule of events is available in the "Events" section.
